If you have realized main characters are extremely boring most of the time. Like this one book called "Mao-Chan" the main character Mao-Chan (yes they named the book after her) was extremely boring. I mean the plot was pretty good (it was about kids saving the world from aliens) but it seemed like everyone only cared about boring Mao-Chan. Like when a plane crashed everyone was only worried about Mao-Chan when her more interesting friends were on the plane too.
Here are some tips so that your main character is not boring:
1. YOUR MAIN CHARACTER DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THE BEST- In a fantasy story your main character doesn't have to have the coolest power you could make it interesting with a story that focuses on the behind the scenes action. Also with a normal story your character doesn't have to be the most popular but please don't make one of those stories like high school musical where they ends up being popular there are to many of those.
2. GIVE THEM SOME CHARACTER- The main character doesn't have to be an angel. You could even make them a little mean in the beginning of your story. This is one of the reasons I like Gakuen Alice because there main character Mikan is not boring. She has character. she is dumb and cheerful. 3. DO THEY HAVE A SPECIAL PET- Sometimes main characters will have a pet that follows them around. Like in my all time favorite show/book "Avatar The Last Airbender" where the main character (Aang) has a pet named MoMo and my favorite, Appa. As you can see those two pets are not real animals try to make original animals in your story.

New Ideas
there are totally new ideas and there ones that everyone else uses. What i mean is that lots of manga is based on high schoolers, and that sometime when my dad buys me comics some of them almost are exactly the same! For instance my older sister Josie she is very talented in manga art but even then we both had to make a few changes to one of her manga comic ideas because it was almost exactly the same as one of the T.V shows we watch. the key to really making your idea new is not using these creatures
1. demi god
2. fairy
3. mermaid
4. elves, leprechaun
5. teenagers trying to fit in
make up your own ideas starting with a new look like who would have ever thought of creating a person with a tail that lives and breathes under water and still gorgeous. Or a creature with a wand filled with magical powers, shimmering wings and outfits made from plants. who would have even thought of magic? well now we all do and we need someone to think of another totally new idea so we can copy it for another 12 decades.

Style For Your Character
okay this is like a huge topic for your girl character there are three big features that you have to complete
1. eyes
2. hair
3. style
today we will be talking about number 3 style!!!!!!!
okay so since most manga takes place at a high school let's talk about the uniforms i don't want to give you an exact outfit because you want your outfit to be different but i will give you some accessories knee socks, plaid some where in the outfit, a tie, and don't forget a cute vest and maybe a bow and a plaid purse!! oh and don't forget about footwear buckle shoes look adorable with knee socks.
Now let's talk about the whole fantasy look in this the color schemes are especially fun because there are so many fantasy looks!!! I mean there is the jungle earth look, the cutesy fairy/angel look, the elegant princess look and that is all i can think of right at the moment but still that's already three! So right now i want to talk about the cutesy fairy/angel look, because it is the most popular. a short poofy dress is the most popular now remember when doing this kind of outfit you want the light pinks, baby blues and peach colors mostly don't forget these things ACCESSORIES!!!!!!!!! whether it is a bow on there shoes or a flower in there hair. These characters are always wearing fabulous outfit and would not be caught dead in a plain grey T-shirt. you have to be creative and most of all you have to think girly. Lace, ruffles, bows, sequence, ribbons and flowers are always a good idea. Also for shoes do ballet shoes but remember to put ribbons up the leg that are connected to the ballet shoes.
Last but not least we have to talk about the casual wear this may be casual wear but remember shouljo teens are always looking there best so these outfits should be very coordinated and matchy remember to add a vest, a purse, a belt and earrings for final touches if your doing girls from 13-17 they should be wearing glamorous and stylish outfits. If you are doing kids from 7-12 they should be wearing very happy and colorful like an example outfit would be a T-shirt with different color peace signs and heart blue shorts white socks and grey and colorful light up sneakers. while from 13-17 an example outfit would be turquoise zip up tube tob black sparkly belt short jean skirt grey leapord leggings and black boots.

The Manga Channel
when kids watch T.V most of them watch disney, cartoon network and nickelodeon. Why isn't there any manga channels? i mean the illustrations are lots better! and the story line is even better! These are some more reasons why there should be manga channels.
1. manga would get more popular
2. kids would be watching better shows
3. people who are already into manga would be able to see more of it
4. the channel could have a website with cool manga contests
5. manga books could get more popular 'cause they would be able to turn there book into a show
